What moves, what doesn't and what gets rebuilt

Tools such as Shopify's Store Importer and Matrixify support WooCommerce. Running the tool isn't the end of it: we check every piece of data against a mapping table and fill the gaps.

Moves over

  • Products, variations and images
  • Categories and tags
  • Customers and addresses
  • Order history
  • WordPress blog posts and pages
  • Yoast or Rank Math meta titles and descriptions

Stays behind

  • Customer passwords (an activation email is sent)
  • WordPress theme and page builder layouts
  • Plugin-specific data (equivalents are set up separately)

Yeniden kurulur

  • Payments
  • Shipping integrations
  • Shopify equivalents of your plugins
  • Forms and membership flows
  • Coupon and promotion rules

Shopify equivalents of common WooCommerce plugins

Some features are built into Shopify; for others we choose an app from the App Store.

Your WordPress blog comes with you

For many WooCommerce stores, a big share of search traffic comes from the blog. We move posts to the Shopify blog with their images and meta data, and redirect every URL.

  • Post content and images
  • Categories and tags (as Shopify blog tags)
  • Meta titles, descriptions and featured images
  • Post URLs mapped to the /blogs/... structure with 301s

Example: WooCommerce URLs and their Shopify equivalents

Redirects are uploaded to Shopify in bulk as a CSV. Sample rows for WooCommerce's default URL structure:

Questions about WooCommerce migration

Can't find the answer you're looking for? Get in touch directly.

Will my WooCommerce store go offline during the migration?

No. Your Shopify store is built and tested separately. Your WooCommerce store keeps selling until the domain is switched over.

Do my customers have to sign up again?

No. Customer records are moved. Passwords can't be transferred for security reasons, so customers receive an activation email to set a new password.

Will my Google rankings be affected?

Ranking losses are kept to a minimum when every old URL is 301 redirected to its Shopify equivalent and meta data is preserved. We monitor Search Console with you after launch.

What happens to my marketplace integrations?

Marketplace connections are rebuilt on the Shopify side with compatible integrations. Because barcode and SKU matching is preserved, your marketplace listings and reviews aren't affected.

How is the migration priced?

Based on the number of products, order history, integrations and design scope. We send a written quote after the audit; we don't publish package prices.
