How are AdSense earnings calculated?
Google AdSense revenue comes down to three values: your site's traffic, how often visitors click ads, and what each click earns. The tool multiplies them to get daily earnings and works out the monthly and yearly estimates from there.
How it's calculated
- Daily clicks = Daily views × CTR ÷ 100
- Daily earnings = Daily clicks × CPC
- Monthly earnings = Daily earnings × 30
- Yearly earnings = The sum of 12 months, assuming traffic grows by the growth rate each month
- Page RPM = Daily earnings ÷ daily views × 1,000
Ways to grow your AdSense revenue
The most lasting way to grow traffic is visitors from search engines, built through good SEO settings and regular blog content. Fast-loading pages also help both rankings and how many ads are shown.
Ad revenue or your own products?
Many content sites that reach a certain level of traffic start selling their own products or digital products alongside ad revenue. Revenue per visitor is often much higher than from ads.
