How your Shopify profit is calculated
A Shopify store's real profit is much more than the gap between sale price and product cost. Shipping, payment fees, ads and tax come out of every order, and fixed costs like your Shopify plan and apps come out every month. This tool brings them all into one screen.
How it's calculated
- KDV = Sale price × VAT rate ÷ (100 + VAT rate). VAT is separated out of the VAT-inclusive price.
- Payment fee = Sale price × fee rate
- Net profit per order = Sale price − VAT − product cost − shipping − ads − fee
- Net profit per month = Net profit per order × monthly orders − fixed monthly costs
- Net profit margin = Monthly net profit ÷ monthly revenue excluding VAT
- Break-even point = Fixed monthly costs ÷ net profit per order
What affects your profit
The biggest levers are usually ad cost and conversion rate: more orders from the same ad budget lowers your ad cost per order. A better shipping deal and cross-selling that raises order value also lift net profit directly.
Shopify fees
Shopify's monthly plan fee and app subscriptions count as fixed monthly costs. Current plans and prices for your country are on Shopify's pricing page.
