Shopify Plus is the enterprise plan of the same Shopify platform. It isn't a separate product: a Plus store runs on the same admin, themes and apps as any other Shopify store. What Plus adds is more control, more capacity and features built for larger and more complex businesses.
What Plus adds
Checkout customisation
On every plan you can brand the checkout and customise the thank-you and order status pages. On Plus you can go further and add custom UI and logic to the information, shipping and payment steps with checkout extensions, for example extra fields, upsells, delivery instructions or custom validation.
B2B on Shopify
Plus includes native B2B: company profiles with multiple buyers and locations, price lists per company, quantity rules, payment terms such as net 30, and a blended store where retail and wholesale customers see different prices from one storefront.
Expansion stores
Plus lets you run additional stores, for example for a separate brand, a wholesale-only store or a region with very different operations, and manage them from one organisation.
Lower fees and more staff
The third-party transaction fee drops to 0.2%, Shopify Payments card rates are lower, and staff accounts are unlimited. See our Shopify pricing guide for the plan-by-plan comparison.
Automation and operations
Plus stores get access to tools for scheduling launches and sales and more advanced automation, plus higher API limits for integrations with ERP, PIM or warehouse systems.
Support
Plus merchants get priority support and access to Shopify's Plus partner and onboarding resources.

Do you need Plus?
Plus is worth considering when one or more of these is true:
- You need to change the checkout itself, not just its branding
- You sell wholesale and want B2B pricing and terms in Shopify
- You run several brands or regions that need separate stores
- Your volume makes the lower fees outweigh the plan price
- Integrations with ERP or warehouse systems are hitting API limits
If none of these apply, Advanced or even Grow is usually the better value. Many growing brands are well served by standard plans for a long time.
Moving to Plus
Upgrading an existing store is straightforward: the plan changes, and nothing you have built is lost. The work is in using Plus well: planning checkout changes, setting up B2B, connecting systems and training the team. See our Shopify Plus agency services, or, if you're coming from another enterprise platform, our Shopify vs Magento comparison.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Shopify Plus cost?
Shopify lists Plus from $2,300 a month. Larger businesses typically pay a variable fee based on sales volume, agreed with Shopify.
Can I upgrade from Advanced to Plus without rebuilding?
Yes. Upgrading changes the plan on your existing store; products, theme, customers and orders stay as they are. You then start using Plus features step by step.
Do I need Plus to sell B2B?
Shopify's built-in B2B features (company accounts, price lists, payment terms) are part of Plus. On other plans, B2B selling is possible with apps, with fewer native features.
